Personos uses AI & psychology to improve workplace empathy

Thu, 20th Nov 2025

Personos has launched a platform focused on improving workplace and professional communication using artificial intelligence (AI) and personality science. Built on the Five-Factor Model of personality, the platform aims to equip both organisations and individuals with tools and guidance customised to each user's style and behaviours.

Addressing communication

The Personos system allows users to complete a brief personality assessment, after which an online dashboard offers actionable insights. These insights are designed to help users adapt their communication and feedback for different audiences. The company positions this as a way to reduce friction, build trust, and increase understanding in environments where teamwork and human connection can be challenging.

The platform is already in use among nonprofits, coaches, social impact professionals and corporate teams. Personos states that its solution is intended to bridge the gap for those who do not have access to organisational psychologists or personalised performance coaching, which have traditionally been reserved for executive or elite settings due to cost and availability.

Technology foundation

Personos employs a blend of AI and established personality psychology, particularly the Five-Factor Model, sometimes known as the Big Five. This underpins the guidance and reports users receive, which Personos says are tailored to real-time situations and challenges.

Users receive prompts and recommendations to help them deliver feedback, manage tension and motivate colleagues or clients according to individual personality profiles. This approach, according to the company's founders, is designed to foster more empathetic and effective workplace dynamics rather than focusing solely on efficiency or process automation.

"AI has made us more efficient in how we work and communicate, but not smarter about how we connect with people," said Christian Thomas, CEO and Co-Founder, Personos.

Democratising psychology

Personos is positioned as making professional-grade psychological insights more widely available. The company suggests most professionals currently lack access to tools that use insights from personality research, as such services are often costly and limited in reach. The platform's digital format is intended to help a much broader set of users apply personality-based guidance in their working relationships.

Personos says it delivers its advice via contextual prompts, adaptive reporting and an interactive chat function. The service is intended to support teams in adjusting communication styles and approaching interpersonal challenges in a way specific to the personalities involved.

"Personos gives people the confidence to communicate with empathy, not just efficiency," said Nick Blasi, Co-Founder and COO, Personos.

Early use cases

Early customers include both nonprofit and business organisations. Steve Huff, PhD, Founder of Thrive, said Personos has supported his programmes for individuals facing terminal illness, trauma, addiction and housing instability.

"Personos isn't just technology, it's a teaching partner. A constant criticism of AI is that it makes us dumber. To the contrary, Personos helps make our members smarter about how they communicate, how to mitigate challenges, and the opportunities available to them for more successful outcomes," said Huff.

In the business sector, Mike Walker, Executive Leadership Coach and Founder of Dynamic Decisions Coaching, said Personos has provided leaders with a new approach for managing interpersonal and team complexity. "Personos connects the dots between personality and performance," Walker said. "When we exceed our cognitive capacity for complexity, we as individuals are more likely to make impulsive decisions. Personos helps clients organize often overwhelming amounts of mental and physical information to make better, creative, more informed decisions that incorporate their values and preferences, as well as those with whom they are interacting."

Mission and outlook

Personos positions itself as a platform to enhance-not automate-human understanding. Its focus is to bring the principles of personality psychology into daily professional practice at all levels.

"Our vision is simple," said Thomas. "AI shouldn't just help people be more efficient but help people truly listen and understand each other better to foster connection and create impact."
