Glance launches AI shopping hub on Samsung phones in US

Thu, 5th Jun 2025

Glance has launched a new artificial intelligence-driven shopping platform integrated directly into Samsung smartphones in the United States.

The new offering, called Glance AI, is available to approximately 50 million Samsung users and combines generative AI and image-generation technology to allow consumers to visualise themselves in curated outfits and shop directly from their device's lock screen.

The platform uses a single selfie or an image from the user's gallery to create realistic images of the user in various outfits. These images are generated to suit the individual's style, with suggestions powered by partnerships with over 400 brands in the US and internationally. Users can save these looks as their lockscreen wallpaper or share them via other channels.

Glance AI leverages Google Gemini's artificial intelligence and Imagen's image generation technology to support its digital styling and shopping features. The partnership with Samsung will give US users exclusive access to Glance's content discovery and shopping tools.

The company is making a USD $200 million investment to build out Glance AI, signalling its intention to expand the platform's features and reach.

"Glance AI is driven by a core human truth: we want to become the best version of ourselves. What stands between that aspiration and reality is the awareness of what is possible or access to platforms that enable this. Glance AI helps consumers discover and visualize what's possible, starting with an outfit that makes them look and feel great, and own it with just a tap on the platform. Samsung's commitment to enable Glance AI across its devices in the US ensures consumers enjoy an experience where inspirational commerce and content converge," Naveen Tewari, Glance Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said.

The Glance AI application is fully opt-in, giving users the choice to enable or disable the experience. Once activated, users can access personalised recommendations via the lock screen, and the system's AI adapts further the more it is used. The real-time commerce engine connects with logistics and fulfilment systems to allow purchases to be made directly within the platform.

Glance AI also incorporates trending content, local events, and social media trends to keep its recommendations timely and engaging. The company reports that its use of high-speed inferencing technology enables features such as flash sales and trend-driven offers to be delivered as part of the overall shopping experience.

"At Samsung Galaxy Store, we're proud to be more than just an app marketplace – we're a destination for innovation, discovery, and meaningful experiences tailored for Galaxy users. Glance AI is a perfect example of the kind of high-quality and unique content we strive to deliver. By using AI to personalize content and shopping directly on the lock screen, it brings a smarter, more dynamic experience that reflects the forward-thinking spirit of the Galaxy Store," Jason Shim, Senior Director and Head of Samsung Galaxy Store USA, said.

The integration of Glance AI with Samsung devices aims to make smartphones a more dynamic hub for styling and commerce, allowing users to discover new looks and shop efficiently. The feature is available both as a standalone application and as a lock screen experience, providing versatility for users' personal preferences.

The company also highlighted plans to use the substantial investment in Glance AI to further enhance the platform's capabilities, including the expansion of brand partnerships and additional features powered by generative AI.
